Brethren:
Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who came out for our last blood drive. 98 donors came through the door and were registered. We have not seen a total that high in a long time. Many thanks to Wor. Brother Bill Asadoorian for his efforts. Remember everyone donating five times this year will receive a commemorative “I gave five for the Fifth” pint glass.
Now is typically a time to throw open the doors and do some cleaning. We threw open our doors March 27th to the public, and invited them into our buildings across the state. In Newtonville, we not only invited the public, but are invited them to participate. We had participation from the Boys and Girls club of Newton, Second Step, and even the Mayor dropped by, as well as others. Thank you for finding time to drop by and bring someone you thought might be interested in Masonry.
This past spring was also a great time for fraternalism. There were many opportunities to meet with your brethren from around the district. The District Lodges had several table lodges where we honored worthy brethren, Wor. Brother Dave Dill put together a great program for Lodge of Instruction. We had an excellent Exemplification and are looking forward to this month's Lodge of Qualification.
A word about our youth groups. Brethren Waltham Triad held a youth night at their April communication. There are few things as rewarding as watching a child grow and develop. We have an opportunity within our district to bring back our DeMolay and Rainbow groups. DeMolay is for young men between the ages of 12 and 21. Rainbow is for young women between the ages of 11 and 20. We are thrilled that we have now established a new Rainbow Girls Assembly thanks to the hard work of many, especially Wor. Nicholas Pappas. These are two of the finest youth organizations around, they can changes lives, as they did mine. If you know anyone you feel could benefit from an organization dedicated to character building, that promotes self-esteem, leadership, and community service, please contact me.
Enjoy your summer and I hope to see you soon in my travels.
Cordially and Fraternally,
Paul
